Kingsway

This imposing, high-style, two-story brick residence began life as two 1860s two-story brick houses, each with attics, gables, and adjacent entries. Its current grand appearance resulted from a 1930s remodeling, when Leon Arnaud Cazenave (Arnaud Restaurant’s “Count”) acquired both buildings.

In the early 1990s, the property was transformed into Kingsway Studios, the New Orleans institution established and run by Grammy Award-winning producer Daniel Lanois. Kingsway evolved into one of the music industry’s most venerable commercial facilities, with a list of credits that includes, Emmylou Harris, The Neville Brothers, Pearl Jam, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Iggy Pop, Robbie Robertson, and Sheryl Crow.

In 2002, the property again changed hands and was converted back to its current residential configuration by actor Nicolas Cage. Working closely with Interior Designer LM Pagano over the course of several renovations, practis brought architectural preservation and renovation expertise to bear, while LM crafted the experiential vision with an eye for the beautiful and unusual.
