International House Hotel Restaurant

The International House Hotel has a reputation for its creative, casual, elegant vibe, with a deeply rooted connection to the city. Rotating installations and performances by artists are a staple throughout the year. The restaurant associated with the hotel must, therefore, be an extension of that atmosphere, and become a destination for relaxation and conversation.

The buildout of the existing space uses the exposed structure, plaster, and masonry to its advantage, siting the custom bar and shelves within the framework of those textures. A butler’s pantry of whitewashed cypress features marble tops and dimmable lighting to allow it to glow. Other features include the new herringbone pattern wood floor, decorative light fixtures, and relocating of air ducts to open up the center of the space.

This project was completed in collaboration with award-winning interior designer LM Pagano of LM Pagano Design.
